There are a few different options when planning your stay at Silverdog. We are able to help you arrange transport to and from ferry terminals and airports.
The fast ferry from Lombok is the easiest and quickest way to reach Sumbawa by water.
Flights to Lombok with Lion Air leave Bali daily at 11.40 am. The drive from the airport to the ferry is about 2 hours with an approximate cost of 300 000 Rph. The ferry to Sumbawa takes approximately 1.5 hours and costs 135 000 Rph. The drop off point is Benete Harbour only ten minutes down the road from Silverdog.
Car/Bike from Bali:
This is a twelve to sixteen hour trip and includes two ferry rides. Worth doing however, the ferries don't always run on time and travel time is normally delayed when big swells hit.
The first ferry leaves from Padang Bai in Bali, this trip takes about five hours. This is followed by a two hour ride or drive across Lombok to Labuhan Harbour. Jump on the ferry for a two hour trip to PotoTano in West Sumbawa. It’s then a two hour ride/drive to Maluk, the good news is the traffic is light (virtually non existent compared to Bali and Lombok), so you have time to take in the scenery.
Leaving at night makes for a quicker trip as there is less traffic however, travel at night has it’s own dangers, including unexpected road works, truck accidents and livestock wandering across the road. If you are thinking of leaving at night a car is the best option unless you’re an experienced rider.
Fly to Sumbawa:
Guest’s can also fly direct to SumbawaBesar, from Bali or Lombok. It’s then a 2.5 hour drive to Maluk.
